Climb Aconcagua with Trek & Mountain Expeditions!

Aco_web

After two successful reader expeditions to Kilimanjaro (Western Breach) and Mt Elbrus (traverse) in 2013, we’re pleased to announce our next expedition that you, our readers, can join – and this time we’ve chosen the highest peak outside of the Himalaya… ACONCAGUA!

On 15th January 2015, 12 Trek & Mountain readers will leave the UK for an attempt to summit South America’s highest peak (at 6960m) which is also the second highest of the Seven Summits. The expedition is being led by 360 Expeditions who have a great record on this peak, and the expedition leader will be Rolfe Oostra, the hugely-experienced director/founder of the company.

So who can join the expedition? Well, you’ll need some previous experience at altitude (Kilimanjaro would be ideal), you’ll need to have bags of determination and good fitness, and preferably some basic winter skills including ice axe and crampon use. You’ll also probably need an understanding boss, since the trip requires three weeks off work! Finally, a good team ethic and sense of humour (it’s a requirement you have fun on our expeditions) would definitely be good traits to possess. If this sounds like you, then get in touch!

You can find full trip details and a detailed itinerary HERE and we suggest you contact us by phone or email to discuss your previous experience and suitability for the trip. We can also advise about what training days/trips would be useful before the expedition kicks off next January – after all, we want to give you, and the team, the very best chance of succeeding on this big beast of a peak.

Those joining the expedition will benefit from the usual Trek & Mountain Expeditions ‘trimmings’ such as a training weekend in Snowdonia where you’ll meet the other team members, and complimentary copies of the magazine the trip features in. Up for the challenge? Then get in touch NOW as there’s only 12 places on offer!
